“The ‘Smart’ Meter is #1 in terms of devastation to our nervous system… [the radiation] permanently destroys and alters the manufacture of brain proteins … meaning that it completely changes the human organism – permanently”
Dr Karl Maret Engineer, discusses Smart Meter Potential Health Effects
Brian Thiesen, The Truth about Smart Meters & Wireless Radiation
Smart Meters use wireless frequencies to transmit electrical, gas and water usage information direct to the utility companies. In contrast to older analogue meters, which require meter readers to check the usage, the new smart meters sending information direct cutting out the middle man to the utilities company by wireless transmission. Wireless digital meters are designed to transmit pulsed microwave radiation frequently (sometimes every few seconds). Smart meters are already rolled out in many other countries, and homeowners are reporting not only serious health problems, but also issues with privacy, price hikes, overcharging and some meters have caught fire. Smart Meters can also cause Dirty Electricity (Read more). Electric Ireland and Gas Networks Ireland have started an upgrade programme, replacing current analogue meters with Smart Meters. Existing analogue meters work perfectly well and are safe. Irish Water meters are also wireless meters, transmitting microwave radiation. SMART METERS ARE BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH.
Smart, Digital or Electrical? Confused?
It’s Simple – Current Analogue Meters are Safest
Your utility may say the meters are not Smart, but that they are digital or electrical or AMR, and give confusing information about levels of frequency and power, or that they are as safe as wifi or wireless baby monitors (which are not safe either). Whatever they call them, they all emit PULSED WIRELESS RADIATION and create dirty electricity, you can not turn it off and you have NO CONTROL over this.
Unfortunately some homes will already have smart digital meters installed, or old ones upgraded to smart meters. Existing Analogue meters are smarter for you and your family.
Not Healthy: Acute health problems reported where smart meters are installed include heart palpitations, chest pain, inability to concentrate, fainting spells, headaches, dizziness, nausea, sleep difficulties, and tinnitus. Health complaints Accumulative long-term exposure to microwave radiation can lead to depression, chronic illnesses and cancers. Children, the elderly and those with already compromised health are most at risk of developing acute or long-term illnesses.
Not Green: Trees, plants, animals and birds can all be affected by smart meter radiation. Smart Meters are not environmentally friendly. Consider the huge environmental cost to produce and install the smart meter grid system, and to dispose of analogue meters – an unnecessary expense as existing analogue meters work perfectly well.
No Savings: Most have reported higher bills since smart meters. Also the cost of production and installation will be passed on to you.
No Say: Utility companies can switch your power off when they want to, without your consent.
No Privacy: These companies will invade your privacy by collecting and selling data about you, your living habits to third party marketing companies, invading your privacy, and making a profit;

Your private information can also be easily hacked into.
Not Safe: Some smart meters have exploded and caused fires. emfsafetynetwork.org
In the UK, Dr Andrew Goldsworthy, Lecturer in Biology of Imperial College London (retired), wrote to The Commons Select Committee UK in response to smart meter roll-out there. Read Response HERE
What Can I Do?
You will receive a letter from your utility company about upgrading your current analogue meter, and requesting a time to call. Do not give your consent or contract for installation of a smart meter.
IT IS NOT MANDATORY TO HAVE YOUR ANALOGUE METER REPLACED WITH A SMART METER – YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE A SMART METER (Oireachtas 2016)
Inform neighbours, friends, family and local residents association. Contact your local TDs and councillors.
Download and print pdf Notice of Non-Consent letter – fill it in and send registered post to the companies and relevant government agency.
Display a sign/poster on your meter box and property, refusing installation of a smart meter – some templates available Here from StopSmartMetersUK
